X-Men: First Class
okay so admittedly? i don’t give a fuck about xmen, or comic books, or super heroes or anything like that. however, why why WHY didn’t somebody alert me to the fact that JAMES MCAVOY is going to be in the new movie? like, i was already like “shit, seriously? aronofsky’s directing that shit?” so i was kindof already planning on secretly renting this from ondemand or redbox or something but now? Now? I might pay money to see it at a theater.
I was all set and determined to post a Quality Song to counterbalance the spaz-attack that is me trying to referee a Charmed-Buffy debate (coming to a Tumblr dashboard near you TODAY), but then this came up on my shuffle and well, it’s really important, so:
“Another Dumb Blonde,” Hoku
my thought process whenever* i hear this song: “is this the hoku song from legally blonde or snow day? i know one of them is ‘perfect day’ and i feel like ‘perfect day’ goes better with snow day. but i distinctly remember buying the another dumb blonde CD single around when snow day came out, mostly because it had a remix and a karaoke version so i could sing about how i didn’t want to be another dumb blonde although i was a 12 year old black grrrl with brown hair. oh man, remember that song from princess diaries by that krystal chick that was all ‘i’m a supergirl!!!’ and the video was here working at a mcdonalds or something? that song sucked. i wish i had that CD single. i wonder what happened to her. i wonder what happened to hoku. i really want to watch snow day and legally blonde and princess diaries right now.”
*which is more than you would think, thanks to my itunes shuffle.
i am reblogging this entire thing because when i hear the hoku song “another dumb blonde” i have this exact same thought process except that i know its from the movie “snow day.”
